A great contemporary classic and prelude of Hannah Berry
Hannah Berry (she/her) is a multidisciplinary fashion practitioner whose absurdist led creative practice swims amongst the pools of wearable, readable, experiences and sculptural artefacts.
Hannah is primarily interested in social engagement art and how this can drive social change through human interaction with materials, using humour to create a sense of belonging .
Through her practice Hannah seeks to engage the community and encourage a shift in thinking by drawing attention to environmental and social issues. Hannah is constantly investigating what fashion is and materials are, creating her own lens to critique and satirize the institutions and systems of power that currently drive the human existence in context of consumer behaviour and the forbidden word….sustainability.
Hannah’s practice feasts on what humans call ‘garbage-waste-trash’ questioning: What makes waste, well, waste? and why the blooming flowers we call it that?
Hannah holds an Honours in Fashion (Design) at RMIT and a certificate in Fashion illustration: drawing as a medium from Academia Italiana, Rome. She has recently commenced a Master of Cultural Material Conservation at Melbourne University (2024).
